After crossing the Fewa lake in a local boat and hiking uphill for an hour, we finally arrived at the Pokhara World Peace Pagoda, one of 80 peace pagodas in the world. By midday, the sun was scorching hot, but the views were magnificent. As we watched a monk quietly walk around the stupa, offering his prayers, we felt we had arrived at a haven of calm and tranquility.
